In this tutorial, I will show you how to validate flight and ground lessons.

If you validate a lesson, it will be counted as done in the student's progress. The evaluation score will be given a 5 and shown as completed.

This is a simple way to help you manage students that are coming from other schools and have previously completed some lessons in a course.

ROLES AND PRIVILEGES: (0:25)

This feature is restricted to administrative roles only. You can manage the privileges for these user roles by following the next steps:

1. Go to the Users Module.

2. Click on the “Roles and Privileges” button.

3. Select a role from the drop-down list.

4. Go to the Users tab.

5. Scroll down to Courses and check off the “Validate lesson” box.

Now that you have set the Roles and Privileges to access this feature, you can start validating flight and ground lessons.

VALIDATE FLIGHT LESSONS: (1:00)

To validate a flight lesson, follow the next steps:

1. First, log in to your account.

2. Go to the Users Module.

NOTE: Even though this is essentially related to courses you will do this from the Users Module so you can validate flight and ground lessons individually per user.

3. Select a user. I am going to choose Silvia Bello.

4. Click on the Courses tab.

5. Click on the course you want to select to expand it.

6. Click on the correct phase of the flight lesson that you want to validate.

7. Select the flight lesson.

IMPORTANT: You cannot choose a flight lesson that has already been completed or evaluated. The lessons available to be validated are the ones that have not been completed or evaluated yet. You can identify them by their color-coded background:

- Green: The lesson has a passing grade.

- Red: The lesson has a failing grade.

- Gray: The lesson has been done but not evaluated.

- Blue: The lesson is scheduled.

- White: The lesson has not been done yet.

8. Click on the three dots to expand the menu.

9. Click on "Validate Lesson". You will be prompted with the message, "If you validate this lesson, it will be counted as done in the student's progress." You can add a comment.

10. Click "Ok" to save.

To cancel the validation:

1. Just click again on the three dots next to the lesson.

2. And click on “Cancel validation”. You will be prompted with a message: “Cancel validation. Are you sure to cancel the validation of this lesson?”. Click “Yes” to accept or “No” to cancel.

VALIDATE GROUND LESSONS: (2:48)

You can do the same for ground lessons.

1. Expand one of the ground lesson modules on the right-hand side of the page.

2. Select the ground lesson. (one that has not already been completed).

IMPORTANT: You can not choose a ground lesson that has already been completed or evaluated. The lessons available to be validated are the ones that have not been completed or evaluated yet. You can identify them by their color-coded font:

- Green: The lesson has a passing grade.

- Red: The lesson has a failing grade.

- Black: The lesson has not been done yet.

3. Validate a ground lesson by clicking on the checkmark. You will be prompted with the message, "If you validate this lesson, it will be counted as done in the student's progress." You can add a comment.

4. And click "Ok" to save.

To cancel the validation:

1. Just click on the “X” button next to the validated lesson.
