How to Define a Base

In this tutorial, I will show you how to define a base. If you have a multi-base operation you can assign students, instructors, staff, and aircraft to a base or several bases.

This will allow you to control operations per base and set up access to information related to a base or bases. You can also define and edit the bases for different purposes. A user must also have the corresponding Roles and Privileges to be able to manage multiple bases.

SET UP A BASE PER AIRCRAFT: (0:31)

First, let me show you how to set up bases per aircraft.

1. First, log in to your account and click on the Aircraft Module at the top of the screen

2. When you select an aircraft, you can see the details of the main base and the temporary base in the aircraft information box.

3. If you want to add or edit the bases, just select an aircraft, and click on the pencil icon in the top right-hand corner of the page.

4. You can define the main base, the temporary base, and the period of time the aircraft will be at the temporary base.

FILTER A BASE IN THE SCHEDULE MODULE: (1:08)

Now that you have assigned your aircraft to a base you can manage your bases in the Schedule.

Let's see how it works.

1. Go to the Schedule Module and click on the filter icon in the top right-hand corner of the Schedule page.

2. Here you can edit the filters and select the base or bases you would like to view. Please be sure to check your other filters to make sure you are filtering the desired information.

3. To make this easier, you can also save Smart Filters. Smart Filters allow you to easily and quickly access the filters you want in just a few clicks. Smart Filters are located at the bottom of the page.

IMPORTANT: If you select one or more bases, the aircraft, and instructors with no base assigned will not be displayed.

SET UP A BASE PER USER: (1:54)

You can define a base per user in the Users Module.

1. Go to the Users Module.

2. Select a user.

3. Click on the Edit icon, the little pencil in the top right-hand corner of the page.

4. Here you can define the main base.

5. Don´t forget to save.

SET UP A BASE PER CLASSROOM: (2:14)

1. Go to the Schedule Module.

2. Scroll down to Classrooms.

3. To set up a base, pick a classroom and click on the grey desk icon.

4. A window will open where you can add a base to that specific classroom.

SET UP A BASE IN THE FLIGHTS MODULE: (2:30)

You can define what base(s) you want to view by selecting the filters.

1. Go to the Flights Module.

2. Click on the Filter icon in the top right-hand corner of the page.

3. Pick the base or bases you want to view.

IMPORTANT: If you select one or more bases, the aircraft, and instructors with no base assigned will not be displayed. It is possible to not filter by bases, just uncheck all the bases and leave them blank.

Don’t forget to save.

FILTER BY BASES IN THE REPORTS MODULE: (3:02)

Defining a main base for the aircraft and users also allows you to filter the information you view in the Reports Module.

These are the reports that allow you to filter by base:

·         All Bookings

·         Cancellations

·         Flight Hours

·         Production

·         Fuel

·         Landings

·         Invoices

·         Subsidies

·         Payments

·         Signatures

To define a base, pick a type of report and select a base from the drop-down window.

LIMIT THE VIEW OF BASES IN THE SCHEDULE/FLIGHTS/AIRCRAFT/USERS MODULE: (3:33)

You can also limit the bases that each role can view. Let me show you how:

1. Go to the Users Module.

2. Click on the Roles and Privileges icon in the top right-hand corner of the page.

3. Select a role from the drop-down list.

4. Select the Schedule tab from the menu at the top of the window.

·         By default, the user will be able to view all bases. If you want a user to only be able to view a specific base, select the base or bases you want each role to be allowed to view.

·         You can limit the base(s) that each role can view by repeating these steps and alternatively selecting them from the Flights, Aircraft, or Users tab from the menu at the top of the Roles and Privileges window.

A user must have the corresponding Roles and Privileges to be able to manage multiple bases. To learn more about the Roles and

Privileges in these modules, please watch the following tutorials:
