Creating Backups

This guide outlines how Super Administrators can set up and manage system backups.

(0:08) Backups can be configured using either File Transfer Protocol (FTP) or Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP), depending on your security requirements.

At Private-Radar, data protection is a top priority. Our databases are backed up every hour, following industry-standard security and reliability best practices.

(0:30) For more information, please check the Information Security Policy document available in Admin / Documents.

With our (S)FTP backup option, you can securely export operational and financial data to a server you control. This helps ensure compliance with regulatory authorities while strengthening your organisation’s data protection and risk management practices.

(0:37) Once configured, the system will automatically generate the following reports once a week, at 01:00Z on Monday mornings. These are the same reports that can be generated in the Reports module:

  • User Reports - Users List

  • Booking Reports – All Bookings

  • Flight Reports – Flight hours

  • Invoicing Reports– Invoices, Payments

(0:56) To configure your (S)FTP Backup:

  1. Log in as the Super Admin of your account

  2. Expand the top left Menu and open Settings.

  3. Use the arrow in the top right-hand corner, scroll to the right, and open the Backup tab.

  4. Enter the host, username, and password.

  5. Click on Test the connection.

  6. Once the test has passed, save the Settings.

Important information

The user accessing the (S)FTP must have the right to create a directory in the root of the FTP.

The test will try to create the directory “private-radar-backup” in the root. If the user does not have that right, the test will fail.

In case you do not want to give the user the right to write in the root directory, you can create this directory manually. Make sure you create this directory with the exact name “private-radar-backup”.

The user accessing the (S)FTP must also have the right to create new files in the directory private-radar-backup”.
