How to Manage the Roles and Privileges for the Aircraft Module

In this tutorial, I will show you how to configure Roles and Privileges for the Aircraft Module.

The Aircraft Module allows you to manage your multi-base fleet all in one place, including everything related to your aircraft, gliders, and simulators.

MANAGE ROLES AND PRIVILEGES: (0:22)

Let me show you how to set this up:

1. First, log in to your account.

2. Go to the Users Module.

3. Click on the Roles button on the top right-hand corner of the page.

4. Select a role from the drop-down list.

5. Go to the Aircraft tab.

6. Here you can select the criteria.

All of the privileges to the Aircraft Module correspond to the tabs and different functionalities available in the module.

  • Now, if you want users with the selected role to be able to view the Aircraft Module, check the box.

  • You can choose to limit the view by base. Remember you can define the main base in the Aircraft information window. You can allow users with the selected role to view all bases or select as many bases as you want from the drop-down list.

  • If you want to allow users with the selected role to view aircraft documents, check the box. In addition, if you want to allow users with the selected role to add and delete documents, check the corresponding boxes.

  • Now, if you want users with the selected role to view the aircraft certificates, check the box. You can also allow them to add, edit and delete certificates. Usually, this would be reserved for the role Administrator or Maintenance.

  • You can allow users with the selected role to view the Maintenance tab, as well as, add, edit, and delete the maintenance items; update the aircraft hobbs, tach, and air time; and update the items times.

  • You can allow users with the selected role to view the techbook of the aircraft. The techbook is automatically updated.

  • You can allow users with the selected role to view the aircraft rates. Additionally, you can allow them to edit the rates.

  • If you want users with the selected role to view the Squawks tab, check the box. In addition, you can allow them to add, edit, and delete squawks.

  • Next, you can allow users with the selected role to view the Tracking tab as well as edit the limits. These are the minimum and maximum speed alerts, minimum height, and maximum altitude alerts.

  • Lastly, you can allow users with the selected role to add, edit, and/or delete aircraft.

You can configure these privileges for each role:

STUDENT’S VIEW: (2:49)

For example, users with the role Student most likely wouldn't have access to the Aircraft Module, so in my configuration, I will leave all the boxes blank.

ADMINISTRATOR / MAINTENANCE VIEW: (3:04)

Alternatively, the role Administrator or Maintenance would probably have full access to the Aircraft Module.

Set up your Roles and Privileges configuration for the Aircraft Module according to the access you want to grant to each role.
