How to Manage the Roles and Privileges for the Admin Module

In this tutorial, I will show you how to configure the Roles and Privileges for the Admin Module.

The Admin Module is always accessible from the company's primary account. The company’s primary admin account is the unique username that was registered by Private-Radar when the account was created. As an example, the login username could be "newflightschool". Be careful when entering the username as it is case sensitive.

You should distinguish between a company's username and a personal username. The username for a unique user account is his email address.

In the Admin Module, you can subscribe to or unsubscribe from the different modules, order new trackers to connect to our Aircraft Tracking System, change the company's password, and view the company's subscription account details, including the current balance, all invoices, and payments.

If you wish to allow other users to perform administrative tasks in the Admin Module, you must create a role, such as "Administrator", and grant them the privilege to view the Admin Module.

MANAGE ROLES AND PRIVILEGES: (1:13)

Let me show you how to set this up:

1. First, log in to your account.

2. Go to the Users Module.

3. Click on the Roles button on the top right-hand corner of the page.

4. Select a role from the drop-down list.

5. Go to the Admin tab.

6. Here you can select the criteria. All of the options correspond to the tabs and different functionalities available in the Admin Module.

  • Check off the box “View the Admin Module”.

  • You can allow the role to view the Modules tab. From here, you can manage subscriptions to the different modules.

  • Next, you can give the privilege to view the Flight-Trackers tab to view the list of all the flight trackers you own. You can also give the option to view the orders and place an order for flight trackers.

  • Allow the role to view the Administrator tab, which shows the personal information of the company's primary administrator, including the name, email, and phone number.  ATTENTION: From here you can also change the admin password.

  • Give the privilege to view the Company tab. From here you can view the company's basic information.

  • Check the box to view the Invoices tab, which shows the account balance, the invoices, and the payments.

  • And finally, allow the role to view the General Terms and Conditions tab to review the detailed document.

MANAGE PRIVILEGES FOR ADMIN ROLE: (2:40)

As I mentioned before, these privileges should be reserved only for users with an Administrator role, apart from the company's primary admin account, since the Admin Module contains private information.

I will check off all the boxes except the View Administrator Tab. This will allow users with the selected role to access and manage all the functionalities inside this module but not be able to change the primary admin password.

ADMIN’S VIEW: (3:09)

Set up your roles and privileges configuration for the Admin Module according to the access you want to grant to each role.

For example, for the other roles, you could keep all the boxes unchecked.
